Still a Liar - in his own words

A lie is still a lie.

"Port Austin Bible Campus Update: PABC Accomplishments Thus Far
by Norman Scott Edwards

This update is an honest effort to explain the situation as it is at the Port Austin Bible Campus. I will have to admit that both when I started Servants’ News in 1995, and when I began the work for the Christian community at Port Austin in 2003, I wrote things that left the appearance that they were more than they were. No untruths were written, but there was often not clear distinction between what existed, what we reasonably hoped to obtain, and what we were mostly dreaming about. Some problems were minimized or left out.

I thought I had a good reasons for doing this: People want to be a part of something big and successful. People are scared away when you have trouble: lawsuits, fires, financial difficulty."

And, you're right, Norm. No one wants to support a sinking ship. You go on to say in later pages of Servants News, August, 2008, that you are planning on removing to Spring Vale Academy in September, 2008, and that you won't be holding a Feast of Tabernacles in Port Austin this Fall--but you beg throughout this edition to please send you money, send me your money, support me. You refuse to work--you are a professional beggar.

The Apostle Paul said how to judge a true servant of God, one who works on the same terms as the apostle--he never asked for money!

Norm Edwards and his "campus"

How can Norm Edwards hope to teach anyone how to live when his wife is living on the campus of the COG7 Spring Vale Academy again this year as a cook and is not living with him at Port Austin? His "teaching staff" consists of an ex-con who spent 35? years in prison for robbing pharmacies and dealing drugs and man on disability who supposedly runs a library on "campus?" A supporter who has been listed as the maintenance supervisor is seldom on "campus." This is the sum total of those at PABC and has been so for months. Marlene Edwards and son James sometimes come for weekends, but usually PABC is a dead place.

Norm goes to trial with Terry Williams whom he defraded in November. It would appear that any monies collected at Norm's Feast will be used to defray legal expenses as he lost his appear to represent the trust he stole from the other three trustess and must retain an attorney. Little Gospel work will be done with such offerings--an accounting of the money Norm receives for his perported work would be interesting.

The previous owner of the campus tried to run a "college" at Port Austin but did so without a license from the state and was shut down. Hence, Edwards avoidance of the word "college." Norm asks for support for two years to make a go of Port Austin Bible Campus--he's already had three--and all but three of those who came to live at PABC have left with a bad taste in their mouth.

How others see Edwards …

hypocrisy held by the bigger guys …

… not anywhere near the target of hypocrisy held by the bigger guys (ex COGs--splinters of WCG). Think Norman S. Edwards. …

The Journal continues its support of NSE

Isn't it interesting how Norman Edwards seems to be telegraphing possible plans to embrace a new youth ministry at Spring Vale now that the Port Austin campus may be taken away by its mortgage holder for non-payment, and he hopes before the circuit court renders judgment against him for fraud charges in his acquisition of same?

Garner Ted Armstrong syndrome …

Norman S. Edwards walked into Bible Study one morning in August 2004, and said out of the blue, "If one of us commits adultery, you have to forgive us." His wife quipped up, "Ah, the Garner Ted Armstrong syndrome." The rest of us at that table had to pick our jaws up off the floor. Who would have the brass _____ to ask for forgiveness in advance of such a sin? Was he, as the supposed 'college' administrator hoping to _do_ all of the coeds he hoped/hopes to get to come to Port Austin?

Shifty Eyes …

If you've ever had contact with Norman Scott Edwards (NSE), he finds it difficult to look you straight in the eye, and he's constantly shifting from one foot to the other … that should have been the first clue.
